Embracing The Change!
Having come through menopause with a very deep awareness of how challenging the feminine midlife passage can be for some women(and profoundly healing) I am now offering my services to women seeking to benefit from the powerful transformational potential this stage of life has to offer.
Wise Woman Menopause Coaching can best be thought of as a sort of "midwifery for menopause"--a relationship where a woman who is experiencing the "labor pains" of midlife is offered companionship, support, and guidance as she works to "give birth" to her emerging wise woman self.
The intention of Wise Woman Menopause Coaching Sessions is to help women manage the specific challenges that may occur during perimenopause (the eight or so years before a woman's menstrual cycles cease) and to work toward transforming these challenges into insights that will allow for a more vibrant and fulfilling “second half” of life.
Some of the challenges which may be addressed during these sessions include:
Hot flashes or "power surges"
Sleeplessness
Weight/body image
Self esteem
Feelings of sadness and/or anger
Struggles with the aging process
Relationships and other issues related to the midlife transition.
Wise Woman Menopause Coaching Sessions are designed to focus on the holistic aspects of the menopausal transition and the idea of menopause as a natural life passage, a natural rite of passage that invites each woman to heal and transform her life within every aspect of her being--mind, body, and spirit. It is because menopause is a natural life process and not a disease that I've come to refer to its physical and emotional difficulties not as "symptoms" but as challenges, a challenge often being described as a "call to special effort". Since perimenopause often comes with not just one but many of these types of challenges or "calls to special effort", depending on the needs and interests of the client, Wise Woman Menopause Mentoring Sessions may include any or all of the following transformational practices:
Spiritual Guidance and Mentoring
Yoga, Qigong and self-guided movement
Guided meditations/visualizations
Dream exploration
Specific writing exercises regarding your feelings about menopause and the years ahead
Reiki
Tarot and Feminine Wisdom Card Readings

The emphasis of Wise Woman Menopause Coaching Sessions is to offer the woman-in-transition skills that will help to increase her level of self-awareness and empower her to successfully manage her mid-life challenges, not only during perimenopause but throughout her life. Not surprisingly, when the the feminine midlife passage is supported in this way-- holistically and with a sense of anticipation and hope for the future (and even a little humor)-- life after menopause can prove to be even more satisfying and fulfilling than before.
