Chakra Tarot Reading for Perimenopause
Especially helpful for women during perimenopause and for Healing the Spiritual Wounds of Sexual Abuse (see below)
The Chakra Tarot Reading is a 7- card spread where each card refers to the current state of one of the body's main chakras. In Yogic philosophy, chakras are wheels of energy that lie within the body and contribute to the health and well-being of the mind, body and spirit. There are 7 main chakras, each situated along the spinal column and corresponding to specific organs, nerves, and functions. The chakras perform best when they are open and balanced, allowing the individual to also feel open and balanced as they go about the busyness of their lives. However, due to a variety of life circumstances, sometimes the chakras become imbalanced or blocked which can result in any number of physical and emotional challenges depending on where the blockage is~~
~Root Chakra- Energies related to physical survival, health, and security...our ability to nourish and provide for ourselves...our connection to the Earth and nature.
~Sacral Chakra- Our creative and sexual energies...our emotional grounded-ness...the seat of our feminine spirituality and power.
~Solar Plexus Chakra- The energies of our will power and self-esteem...our ability to take charge of our lives and move forward in the world...our basic energy level.
~Heart Chakra- Energies related to love of self and others...our ability to feel compassion and empathy for self and others.
~Throat Chakra- The energies that allow us to speak our truth and live in accordance with that truth...our ability to communicate effectively with others and with the inner self.
~Third Eye Chakra- Our intuitive energies...our ability to see through the veil...the seat of our wisdom.
~Crown Chakra- The energies that connect us to our higher selves, to the spiritual and transpersonal realms.
The chakras take on a special meaning for women during the time of perimenopause when another form of energy—the Kundalini energy—awakens and begins moving up the spinal column. In Yogic philosophy, the Kundalini is a powerful snake-like energy that sits dormant at the base of the spine. For some people, the Kundalini will remain dormant throughout the life cycle while for others, due to shifts in energy brought about by events such as childbirth, deep meditation or prayer, major illness or loss, or even the hormonal changes of menopause, the Kundalini awakens. Once awakened, this powerful snake-like energy begins moving up the spinal column through each of the seven main chakras. Should the Kundalini encounter a blockage, it will work to clear that blockage and any unprocessed energy that has been stored in that chakra. Just as the chakra blockages can cause any number of physical and emotional challenges, the releasing of the blockages can do the same, only with much more intensity when accompanied by the power of the Kundalini. Many women’s health experts believe that it is the Kundalini-based releasing of blockages at the various chakras that is the primary energy driving many of our perimenopausal mind/body symptoms or challenges—hot flashes and cold flashes, sleeplessness, anxiety, panic, burning mouth, and any number of other midlife disturbances.
A Chakra Reading during perimenopause will give you an opportunity to see how your chakras are functioning at this point in your midlife transition, where any blockages or imbalances might be, and how you might work with these blockages or imbalances to help relieve some of the menopausal challenges you're experiencing. The intention behind this reading is to help you to “lighten your load” and allow for a smoother midlife transition. Should you wish to work on balancing your chakras energetically through Chair Yoga, Qigong practices, or Reiki please let me know.
Chakra Reading for Healing the Spiritual Wounds of Sexual Abuse
Because of the very intense way the chakras can become blocked or imbalanced when there has been sexual abuse or assault, I am also offering this Chakra Reading for survivors of this type of trauma. The goal here is that you will be able to use whatever insights come up during your reading to deepen any therapy work you are currently engaged in. I am not a licensed therapist and it is vital that survivors of sexual trauma have professional support in place when using complementary therapies such as Tarot. Please contact me for more information about this reading at 914-474-8177. You can also refer to my article Healing the Spiritual Wounds of Sexual Abuse for more information about the effect sexual abuse can have on one's spirituality and how to work toward healing.
