Forward From SHARDS ~
On Words and Healing~~
First there were the words I threw across the floor of my therapist’s office,
bits of truth I’d been avoiding for decades
and that had finally begun whittling away at my sense of reality,
my sense sanity,
cutting off my air supply.
“Breathe, Lynda. Breathe.”
Next came the poetry--
pages, no, volumes of words that came pouring out of me
at all hours of the day and night…
more truths, more gasping, more grasping
for the one sentence,
the one phrase that would allow me to stop shaking and sleep through the night.
“Breathe, Lynda. Breathe.”
Then, finally, once enough words had been
poured out of me,
squeezed out of me,
screamed out of me,
came the healing…
